Guild went out of business and these masters, along with those of the February 28 session, were purchased by Musicraft, and later by Savoy. These are remarkable historic recordings, the first commercial bebop records.

From March until July 5 "Dizzy Gillespie and His Band, featuring Charlie Parker" were booked at the Three Deuces opposite the Don Byas Band and the Erroll Garner Trio.
