Both of these items are included (with a heavy-handed rhythm section dubbed in) in Clint Eastwood's film, Bird: The Legend of Charlie Parker. Too bad Tristano and Parker's paths didn't cross more often.

Although the venue is usually described as Tristano's home, his residence at this time was in Flushing NY, and had a studio in Manhattan. Given the bulkiness of Parker's tape machine (a gift from Chan), it seems more likely that these recordings were made in Tristano's studio than in his duplex in Flushing. Thanks to Eunmi Shim for information and help with this session.
