Despite the poor-quality audience recording, this is a fascinating show, with Corea on acoustic piano and Davis playing with panache. Presumably the Quintet played a full 50-60 minute set, but this is all that has surfaced. Many tapes of this show are quite fast; the times listed here are from a speed-corrected version.

Immediately after the second Juan-les-Pins performance (July 26), the Quintet returned to the U.S. and resumed its busy touring schedule: Rutgers University Stadium, New Brunswick (July 27); Village Gate (July 29-August 10); Sheraton Park Hotel, French Lick (French Lick Jazz Festival) (July 31); The Spectrum, Philadelphia (August 15); Kiel Auditorium, St. Louis (August 16); Grant Park Theatre, Chicago (August 22); Crosley Field, Cincinnati (Ohio Jazz Festival) (August 23); Shelly's Manne-Hole, Los Angeles (September 9-21).
