The Davis Septet may have played two concerts in Fukuoka on this date. A typical Davis concert on this tour consisted of two sets, with a long "Ife" beginning the second set. So although tapes of this music have the incomplete "Black Satin" after "Zimbabwe," I suspect that "Black Satin" is from the first set, while the remainder of the music is a nearly complete second set. Lonnie Smith, Khalil Balakrishna, and Badal Roy left in May, and Davis took over the keyboard duties himself. The new Davis Septet embarked on a tour of Japan in June, and Europe in July. The itinerary for the Japanese tour was as follows:
