The Davis group was booked for three nights at the Bottom Line, June 10-12, and they apparently played two two-set shows (8:30 and 11:00 pm) each night. These are the two sets from the 8:30 pm concert. No sign of the 11:00 pm show, unfortunately.

The version this music issued on Jazz Masters is about a half-step flat throughout. Timings above are from a speed-corrected recording.

"Untitled original 750505" was first recorded in the studio on May 5. It was a standard set closer during May-July 1975. Davis occasionally plays organ during this tune.

Davis suffered from serious health problems (hips, ulcers, drug use) throughout the summer, but the Septet continued to tour: Paul's Mall, Boston (April 28-May 3); Just Jazz, Philadelphia (May 12-17); Bottom Line Club, New York (June 10-12); Avery Fisher Hall, New York (July 1); Central Park, New York (September 5).
