Miles Davis Prestige LPs - Liner Notes

Miles Davis had a Prestige recording contract on and off from 1951 until 1956. His earliest recordings were first released on 78 rpm discs and 7" 45 rpm EPs. With the advent of the 10" LP, space was available to include commentary on the music. Ira Gitler wrote the notes to nearly all of Miles Davis' Prestige records -- the only exceptions are Workin' with the Miles Davis Quintet (Jack Maher), Steamin' with the Miles Davis Quintet (Joe Goldberg), Blue Moods (Bill Coss), and At Last! (uncredited).
