Cootie Williams and His Orchestra were booked at the Savoy Ballroom from February
2-15. Parker replaced Eddie "Cleanhead" Vinson, who had been drafted. Three performances
were broadcast on the Mutual Network (WOR in New York): February 5, 9, and 12 (since
the broadcasts were at 1:00 am, they are technically from the following day).
Parker solos only on "Floogie Boo," where the orchestra is scaled down to a sextet.
He's probably in the ensemble on the other numbers, but it's hard to tell.
Thanks to Leif Bo Petersen for help with this session.
