These are good quality complete items (though a bit bass-heavy). "Irresistible You"
is sometimes listed as "They Didn't Believe Me." The unison parts of "Liza" are
very ragged.
Parker spent most of the summer of 1952 in the Los Angeles area. He returned to
New York following the birth of his son Baird on August 10. Babasin arranged for
this All-Star date at the Trade Winds Club. The rhythm section is solid throughout,
the young Sonny Criss plays well, if not particularly imaginatively, alongside Parker.
This is one of Baker's first recordings, and he has intonation problems in several
places. Parker's playing on "Indiana" is especially strong.
