The Davis Octet was booked for four nights at the Smiling Dog Saloon, December 12-15
(Thursday-Saturday). I'm not sure how these three fragments were performed (i.e.
how many sets, in what order, etc.), or from which night(s) the music is taken.
Given the two versions of "Hip Skip," it seems likely that this is from more than
one concert.
The Octet was quite busy during this period: Allen Theatre, Cleveland (November
1); Bottom Line Club, New York (November 3-4); Club Etcetera, Washington (November
11-14); The Stables, East Lansing (December 11); Bottom Line Club, New York (November
18); Smiling Dog Saloon, Cleveland (December 12-15).
