This is another historic session featuring Parker's working quintet at the height
of its powers.
In early October the American Federation of Musicians announced that a second recording
ban would begin on January 1, 1948. This accounts for the frequency of commercial
recording sessions in the closing months of 1947.
The second Parker original is sometimes called "Klact-oveeseds-tene" but I believe
this is a mistake, for reasons outlined elsewhere on this website.
