Davis gets very little solo space here -- just a half-chorus on "Bean-a-Re-Bop,"
where he plays very conservatively. This was clearly Hawkins' band, and everyone
else is there to play a supporting role. Like the Illinois Jacquet ensemble assembled
in January, this too seems to have been a one-off studio session with no live bookings.
