The original released version on Columbia starts with a short intro (0:19) by keyboards, el-b, and d.
This is not part of the two takes listed.
The version of "It Gets Better" released on the 45 rpm single (Columbia 38-03605) is re-titled "Celestial Blues." "Star on Cicely" is on the B-side.
A radio promo version of Co 38-03605 has "Star on Cicely" on both sides (see August 11, 1982).
"It Gets Better (take 1/2 compilation, bootleg version)" on Legendary Collections CD Black Album (no number)
consists of the first 7:43 of take 1 and the co mplete take 2 edited into one long piece with the title "It Gets Better (unedited long version)."
"It Gets Better (take 1/2 compilation, unissued)" includes the first 5:08 of take 1 edited as the Columbia release,
plus the complete take 2, edited into one long piece.
The inserts (items 9-12) are listed in the Columbia files as "Blues Outtakes (DNU)", take 1 (5:09) + take 2 (12:10).
The titles listed above as "Intro" and "Interlude" are probably the organ parts spliced into "It Gets Better" and "Star People"
(see August 29, 1982).
