"Ms. Morrisine" is listed in the files as "Can't Stay Away."
The issued version is an edited version of the recording from September 22, 1984,
which according to Robert Irving was a demo.
The original g, el-b, and perc tracks were replaced with new ones.
On That's What Happened: Bootleg Series, Vol. 7 the date for "Katia (full studio session)" is listed as January 1985.
Steve Thornton is credited on perc on "Katia," but papers from the studio listing the instruments on the 24-track tape have
the name "Bird (conga)" for tracks 19-21 ("Katia," "Hopscotch," "Ms. Morrisine"). Apparently Rudy Bird was on percussion
for these numbers.
In the files take 1 of "Katia" is tagged "(short side a)," which suggests that it may be the version later released as "Katia Prelude."
Davis says in a later interview that the tune was originally twelve minutes long.
