These recordings were made during a ten-week tour of Asia, and include music recorded in Singapore (then an island of the nation of Malaysia) and Japan. In Singapore, the quintet was joined by two Filipinos, a pianist and a drummer, and played "Softly, As a Morning Sunrise" as well as "Sonnymoon for Two." "Sakura Sakura" was recorded in Japan. The group performed a concert at Freiburg's Audimax on June 22, 1964 after it had returned to Germany.
