This was an abbreviated session, resulting in three 78 rpm-length titles rather
than the standard four. Granz and Parker remade "Star Eyes" in January 1951 with
Miles Davis on trumpet. Both "Star Eyes" and "I'm in the Mood for Love" are excellent
examples of Parker's mature ballad style.
This session is sometimes dated in March, but it seems more likely to come from the
same period as the recordings included in Norman Granz Presents Improvisation.
