The Scott group was booked for a month at Café Society (February 23-March 22), and
soon afterward Dick Hyman left for a six-week European tour with Benny Goodman.
Mundell Lowe, Parker, and a trumpeter (probably Kenny Dorham -- he is audible only
on "Lullaby in Rhythm") joined Scott's quartet for a jam session. Hyman remembers
the session and confirms the presence of Mundell Lowe. (At the beginning of "Mop
Mop" someone, probably Scott, repeatedly calls to someone "Dick" -- probably Hyman.)
Parker and Scott crossed paths again in June at the Café Society (June 8-July 5),
and for a long time I listed these items as from that engagement. Leif Bo Petersen
has corrected me. Thanks to him and to Joe Medjuk for help with this session.
