"Poem for Brass" -- sometimes listed as "Jazz Suite for Brass" -- donsists of four "movements":

  • Sonnet for Brass (4:57)
  • Ballad for Joe [Wilder] (1:25)
  • Meter and Metal (1:02)
  • Finale (2:25)

Davis solos on flugelhorn on "Poem for Brass"; the trumpet solo is by Joe Wilder. Davis does not play on "Pharaoh," and Joe Singer and Bernie Glow are impressive for both accuracy and range.
